Our Legacy

Historical & Theological Institute

Where truth meets Spirit. Where history meets hope. Because faith must tell the truth.

Christian Nationalism is not just America’s past—it is the theological wound that shaped its soul.

We dream of a sacred space where history is not hidden and theology does not falter. The Witness Historical and Theological Institute exists to bear witness to the truth about faith, freedom, and the cost of complicity.

Rooted in the legacy of Christian abolitionists who bore witness to God’s justice, even when it cost them. This Institute will explore the lasting impact of racism and celebrate those who braved and resisted.

Here, we will house the sacred work of Black theologians in our network, offer courses, share truth-telling resources, and—by God’s grace—one day open a museum that remembers rightly.
