Thirteen years ago, The Witness started as a spark. A simple conviction: that truth deserves a home… and that Black Christians deserve a space to breathe, to speak, to gather, and to grow.

That spark became a path.

And you’ve been walking it with us — lifting up stories, supporting leaders, and helping create spaces where people could learn, heal, and hope.

Today, we’re standing at a new threshold.

Not a detour…

but a leap.

We’ve built something meaningful.

Now it’s time to secure it — and expand it — for the future.

That’s why we’re launching The Witness $1,000,000 Annual Operating Campaign.

It’s a bold investment in Black Christian storytelling, formation, and leadership. This campaign will allow us to do 3 important things:

1. Content

First, it will allow us to expand our storytelling network — with programming such as the new and evolved Pass the Mic Podcast, Footnotes with Dr. Jemar Tisby, and Can I Get a Witness? with Danielle Marck.

2. Community

Second, we will build a digital hub for formation courses, resources, and downloads that speak to the issues we face today. We desire to become a premier hub for Black Christian content that catalyzes the work of emerging and leading voices within our community

3. Catalyze

Third, it will increase opportunities to bring our community together in person and online to be refreshed as we continue to take a stand against injustice.
